Why don't most people play video games? This is something that still to this day baffles me. I was talking to my theater professor and asked if she had ever played a series called “God of War” due to it relating to us covering greek tragedy in class(God of War as a work of art and God of War from a game perspective (note swearing))). While this games is violent, to the point of it passing into absurd at some points, that does not mean it has not value as a work of fiction. The story is deep and compelling and the violence makes you care for the character in a way that snuggling kittens wouldn't get across. Now for those completely opposed to lots of violence and warping the youth a point that may get covered late. My stance if a parent stays involved with their kids gaming and keeps away certain titles or just goes over with them the line between fantasy and reality there should be no problem. Supporting that point is most games until the recent consoles kept a level of detachment from reality. But back to the point of why people done play video games. There is really no excuse anymore with the Wii supporting the view that the causal new audience(What is a causal (note swearing )). with the new kentic on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3's move there really is no excuse why you shouldn't give something a try. Really its a good idea.
